WHY MOAI?
The Inspiration Behind Our Name
The Moai have fascinated people for centuries. Created by the Rapa Nui people of Rapa Nui—also known as Easter Island—these monumental figures were carved from volcanic stone and moved, sometimes considerable distances, to ceremonial sites throughout the island. Nearly a thousand are known today, standing as extraordinary expressions of ingenuity, community, and human determination.

Their scale is remarkable. Their presence is unforgettable. And the questions surrounding how the largest Moai were made, moved, and placed continue to inspire study and discussion. One well-known theory suggests that some may have been transported upright using ropes and a carefully controlled rocking motion—quite literally allowing the statues to “walk” toward their destinations.

More Than a Monument
The Moai are part of the enduring cultural legacy of the Rapa Nui people. Their story is one of imagination, craftsmanship, perseverance, and a community’s ability to accomplish something extraordinary.
Those same qualities are what have always resonated with us.
For In Your Face Entertainment Inc, the Moai has been a symbol from the beginning. Long before Moai Group International became our hospitality and concept-development identity, it represented our belief that ambitious ideas can be imagined, built, and made to endure. As IYFEI evolved, that symbol naturally carried forward into Moai Group International.
So why Moai Group International? The answer began simply: we have always been fascinated by them. Over time, however, the Moai came to represent qualities that also define our work—imagination made tangible, ambitious ideas accomplished through ingenuity, and creations designed to leave a lasting impression.
At Moai Group International, we believe the most memorable experiences begin with an idea—and become meaningful when that idea is brought to life with purpose, creativity, and conviction.

We liked the Moai long before we became Moai. The name simply fit.
